Lake Placid, Florida, Church's Welcome Sabbath highlighted testimonies of new members after a series of meetings conducted by Bill and Sunshine Waters, Florida Conference evangelistic team.
At the request of Pastor Rafael and Vianney Fernandez and the Lake Placid, Florida, Church, Bill and Sunshine Waters conducted a Bible Prophecy Made Simple evangelistic campaign where 16 people became part of the family of believers.
When these new members shared their experiences on a special Welcome Sabbath, many of them said they had never seen any church more loving than the Lake Placid Seventh-day Adventist Church family. Former Pastor Emil Moldrik with his wife, Ruth, coordinated a Getting to Know You Social and continue Bible-Marking and Youth 4 Truth follow-up programs.
A unique outreach ministry of church members is the adjacent Better Living Community Center where various programs are conducted under the direction of founders, Tony and Dorie Roa. Nenette Jacobe, a dietician, and her husband, Jesse, along with Nora Aviles and Emil Moldrik, assist other members in serving vegan suppers on Tuesday evenings to 15-23 people for those who stay to watch Mark Finley’s Discoveries in Prophecy series on DVD.
- Merle Marina, mother of Sunshine Waters, from Avon Park was part of a Branch Sabbath School from 1974-1976 when the Lake Placid Church was born with 12 members.
- Sunshine Waters was thrilled to meet one of the original Lake Placid Church members, Stanford Stone, who is now the head elder.
