Tips To Get Published

We always look for mission-driven articles that present new ways for outreach.

When writing about an annual event—especially if it has been covered before—look for the “story in the story.” What is something that happened unique to this year’s event?

Try to answer the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How in the first paragraph of the story.

As you write, if the story doesn’t seem interesting to you, it’s not going to be interesting to your readers.

Necessary details are important, but be as concise as possible.

Try to obtain at least one great quote from a person involved with the story. Get the correct spelling of their name and title/identification. Avoid quoting yourself.

Write in third-person style.

All articles are subject to editing; however, every effort will be made to keep the story’s content and intent as true to the original as feasible.
