Why the story question? I am doing Week of Prayer at Beryl Wisdom School for the younger grades. And we are learning about parables. Meeting Jesus through the stories He told.
My Mom is visiting from New Hampshire. She is splitting her time between me and my brother, Doug. And her 75th High School Reunion. They have it in Florida every year even though the school is in Derry, NH.
VBS Workshops will be here really soon. Get your registrations in as I need to have the meal count. My office is filling up with VBS materials.

The material taught is practical and demonstrates what a heart-based approach to parenting actually looks like on a day-to-day basis. No matter how old your child is, you want to take time to attend at least one of these events.
A heart-based approach goes deeper than just behavior, or reward and punishment. This approach changes what children believe, and that changes kids from the inside out.

Friends,
I have moved and am settled. It is so good to have a home and to have space for a work table. I posted pics last night on my Facebook page. I am also going to post them on the department Febook page. Come and visit me sometime.
This last weekend I was at Cohutta Springs, in Georgia. I attended the G.L.U.E. Conference on Special Needs. A great conference. I am working on getting it here in Sept. at our Go Fish Leadership convention. It is such a vital ministry. This conference will help you to see that you CAN minister to our special children without fear.
As I was unpacking the lending library, I noted that several items that have been loaned out are way overdue. If you have some of them, could you please return them so others may use them. I have also added items to the library and will be updating the online list soon.
I visited a small church recently where they had scheduled an event for kids and families for this coming weekend. I thought it was such a good idea, I thought I would share the idea with you. Goecaching for kids. A great Sabbath afternoon event for families.

Hope all of you are enjoying 2012. It has already begun slipping away.
The VBS workshops will be here soon. Get your registrations in. I have attached the flyer and the poster. The supplies have started arriving. I am still working on support staff. If you are interested in helping in either location, let me know.
Last night my husband and 0I attended a screening of the film October Baby. It is a powerful, gripping film about the abortion survivor issue and also covers the adoption issues related to this. I have some 12 in 12 books left. Let me know if you want some. I will bring some with me each Sabbath and to the VBS workshops. Many churches have already gotten them.
Kids in Discipleship is having a training in Collegedale on Feb. Here is their announcement.
February 24-26 – Learn how to be a disciple of Christ, and be a disciple maker!
You are invited to Collegedale, TN, to experience a powerful weekend of training in how to use the new DVD “Kids In Discipleship-Church Edition” in your local church. This training is designed so that individual lay leaders can be trained in how to use the DVD, and then return to launch this ministry at their local church. This is a tuition-free training. There is a $15 fee per person for training materials. Registration deadline is February 22.

The Education Department is also having KID training Feb. 1-20 in Plantation. This is for Early Childhood. If you are interested in attending, contact the Education Department at the conference office. I had planned to attend, but my mother is coming into be in town on the 19th. The first time in 5 years. I am so looking forward to her coming. And I plan to put her to work here at the office!
It looks like I will be moving back downstairs next week!!! Nothing against the upstairs, but it is so far from my storeroom. I plan for Mom to organize my library. It will finally get unpacked!

Go Fish For Kids update

Watch for registration information. So far we have secured
Oct. 20, 9 AM-4 PM at Midport SDA Church in Port St. Lucie
Oct. 21, 9 AM-4 PM at West Palm Beach Junior Academy. This is a school day.

God put you in a specific place
Friends,
I was reading K! Magazine at lunch yesterday and came across
this statement by Kevin White:
“God put you in a specific place and a specific time with
specific people for a specific purpose. It is no accident that you are
where you are. You will make mistakes, but God can redeem them for a
purpose.” I think we all need to realize that and to think about it from
time to time. I will post the article. It is Simply Creative.
I enjoy sharing resources with you. It is also fun looking
for new ideas. I would enjoy getting resource ideas from you. If
you have anything you wish to share, please do!

cool to play with. Search for GraceLink. You can also subscribe to

Speaking of felts, I have several boxes of felts available for
your mission trips. If you are going on a mission trip and would like to
take some felts, I have 6 boxes-one already spoken for.
VBS Workshops are coming! I

come. We are planning a great workshop on Babylon, Daniel’s Courage in
Captivity. We will also be featuring Sky, Everything is Possible
With God.

beginning with the next issue. If you are interested in receiving this,
let me know. First come, first served!
Frequently, when driving down the road we live off, I see
wildlife other than the cattle that graze there. We have seen, many wild
turkeys, foxes, rabbits, a wolf and others. This morning I saw a
donkey! He would make a great prop for the Triumphal entry, or nativity
story. He was just standing peacefully at the side of the road. I
hope the car that was stopped near him was his owner. What kind of animal
will I see next?
Because the Easter season will soon be here, I am attaching some
Easter resources for you. I hope many of your churches will be
celebrating the season in your church and neighborhood. This is a great
time to share the real reason for Easter.
