M. Carmen Rodríguez
Executive Secretary, Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists
Carmen Rodríguez was born in the enchanted island of Puerto Rico. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was the first Seventh-day Adventist in her family. Since then, she has dedicated her life to the Lord and is characterized by her vision to help believers grow in their Christian journey. In 1994 she was ordained as an elder at Leominster Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church in Leominster, Massachusetts, where she served in that capacity for 16 years. Her responsibilities in the local church have also included: church clerk, treasurer, and working with young people and families.
Carmen was elected Executive Secretary of Florida Conference at the Constituency Meeting held October 1, 2006. She comes to this position from Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts, where she served in a leadership position for several years; the last four as director of human resources.
On August 7, 2010, in recognition of her years of dedicated service to the Lord and leadership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Carmen was set apart for her call to the ministry through a commissioning ceremony conducted by Florida Conference and Southern Union Conference administration.
Carmen is married to Victor Rodríguez, maintenance director at Florida Living Retirement Community, which is an entity of Florida Conference. They are the proud parents of two wonderful young adults, Eileen and Victor. Carmen considers her family a blessing in her life. They are a great support of her and her ministry.
Carmen loves working for the Lord and is thankful for the opportunity to serve Him in Florida Conference and the World Church. Her most earnest prayer is for God to grant her real passion for the lost and a burden for those that are dying in this world without Jesus. She enjoys preaching the Word of God, going on mission trips, and holding evangelistic series. God has blessed her pursuit of a passion for Him and His souls. Today, she glorifies His name for all He has done in her and through her.
